Holiday Greetings

Dear Zinc Researchers,

As we enter the festive period, I wanted to send thoughts and prayers to colleagues and friends who are impacted by ongoing conflict. I hope that these difficulties will be resolved soon and that 2025 is a better year for all.

I would like to say how wonderful ISZB 2024 was. A special thanks goes to the local committee and the scientific committee for organising an inspiring meeting. The quality of research was exceptional, and the social events were carefully planned to allow time to network and make new friends. I would also like to take the opportunity to say again congratulations to Prof. Elias Aizenmen, University Pittsburgh, on being the 2024 ISZB/Fredrickson Prize awardee. Elias gave a wonderful prize talk, and I am so glad that we, as a society, could honour him and reward his efforts within the zinc community by awarding him this prize.

I would also like to remind you that elections for the appointment of a new President-Elect, 3 Board Members, a Society Treasurer (US candidate only), and 2 ECR Board members will run early next year. I will send information out in the new year about the nomination process and timescales. To be able to vote you need to be a current member, with membership dues up to date. Membership status can be checked on the ISZB website https://www.zinc-net.com/member.php. If you have forgotten your membership code, you can request a reminder on the website. Please make sure to check your junk folder once you have requested this! When making nominations, and when casting your vote, please be mindful that the Board should represent our society in terms of membership location and gender.

I wish you a wonderful festive period and a peaceful 2025, filled with happiness and success.

Yours sincerely,

Sam
