The post holder will support the research and knowledge transfer activities of the Professor in Nutritional Sciences in the School of Sport and Wellbeing. To support the Principal Investigator to deliver the BBSRC funded research project entitled “Examining the effectiveness and acceptability of the use of bio-fortified crops in alleviating the micronutrient deficiencies in Pakistan (BiZiFED)” by overseeing the day to day project activities, developing and undertaking laboratory analyses, analysing qualitative and quantitative data, and supporting data transfer and storage.
The successful applicant will have experience of working on research projects and experience of quantitative and qualitative research methods. Excellent laboratory skills and evidence of ability to develop and optimise assays independently is essential to the role as well of evidence of significant dissemination of research outputs.
The post holder will have a PhD in a relevant area and a Good First Degree in Nutrition, Public Health Nutrition, Biochemistry or another relevant Science discipline.
The successful applicant will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be methodical and well organised and demonstrated knowledge of COSHH and Risk Assessment procedures for laboratory work.
